BIO

Carol Antezana is a Bolivian American portrait photographer based in Northern Virginia. She uses self-portraiture as a tool for introspection and psyche healing  to create evocative portraits about her identity, ancestral roots, trauma and the complexities of womanhood. Carol earned her BFA in Fine Art Photography from The Corcoran School of the Arts and Design in Washington DC. She completed a Darkroom Residency at Capitol Hill Arts Workshop in 2020, where she developed a series called Mother's Aguayo. Her work has been exhibited at The Phillips Collection, which acquired her piece Las Gringas for its permanent collection.
